These are 7 rules that can prevent damage to your paint finish and clear coat on your car: |
||||||
|
1- Avoid dish detergent or soap to wash your car, they tend to damage the finish of the car; the same goes for powder car wash since some granules might find their ways into your wash mitt. Use only quality car care products to wash you car. Using dish detergent will accelerate the oxidation process by removing all the wax and polymers from the paint and eating away your car finish and clear coat. 2- Do not use a normal sponge or regular cloth; use a micro fiber wash mitt instead to prevent scratching your paint and leaving swirls. 3- Do not use a high pressure water nozzle; it might cause scratches by rubbing the dirt into the paint and it will certainly remove the wax from your car. Instead use a gentle stream of water to break up the dirt. 4- Always care for your car under the shade and never under the sun to keep your car cool. 5- Do not use hot water since this could melt the wax. 6- If you do take your car to an automated car wash, use only a brushless / touch less car wash facility to avoid swirls marks. 7- If your wash mitt falls on the ground do not reuse it since dirt particles will grind your paint. Instead just pick a fresh one. |
